All of my AU plugs worked fine, except for Korg's MDE-X reverbs and delays, which actually clipped off the end of the notes (not just the reverb tail, mind you). To facilitate testing audio plugs, I just set up an instance of PolySynth, then inserted the audio plugs under it on the same track in the mixing board, so I wasn't actually playing back soundbites OR MIDI tracks here, I was just playing a VI in real time through an inserted AU effect. I think we've had this discussion before, regarding reverb tails (I've never had that problem in 5.1.3 or 6, but I've always bounced to disk or frozen and selected one or two empty measures beyond the end of the soundbites or MIDI tracks when bouncing to two tracks and have not had any reverb cut out on me), but in reference to what was being discussed above, I was actually testing out plugs and VIs in 6.02 to make sure that they worked properly. I'm not the one who actually wrote that last bit, though it was in one of my posts, but I felt I had to chime in. I was told awhile ago that this is the plug-in developers' problem to fix, but I don't know. I thought I remember MAS plugs working fine but AU plugs having this trouble. And it sucks! You either have to merge or bounce that track first or manually put a silent soundbite at the end to extend it. This is true whether the plug-in is inserted on the track or Aux. I don't know if this is what you're referring to or not, but the tails of reverbs will be cut off abruptly when the soundbite ends. ) - quite annoying - no other software has problems with that. I am experiencing this all the time (well, at least in DP5.13, DP6, 6.01 and 6.02 - however not all seem to click - Ozone 4 reverb does. Well, is it time base stuff or plugins that produce tails (reverbs, delays) - a lot of reverbs and delay tails get cut-off in DP - since ever. I agree, having to have that Syncrosoft license thing installed is a bit much, though. do you mean, having to have the USB dongle inserted when you open them? As long as I have the key inserted, both of the VIs and the MDE-X plugs load for me without any hassle. I was a bit confused about your statement regarding Syncrosoft having to check your plugs every time you load them. I may contact Korg about it, but again, seeing as how it's been two years since their last update, I can't imagine they're too concerned about fixing it. Thankfully, the M-1 and WAVESTATION work just fine, which is all I care about, and the MDE-X effects, which I kind of dismissed from the get-go when I installed the Legacy bundle, don't really affect me much one way or the other, I just think it's odd. Korg also hasn't updated their stuff since 2007 (when they made their plugs UB), so I can only imagine how buggy these things probably are. I know the MDE-X reverbs and delays worked fine in 5.1.3, but in 5.1.3, the MDE-X effects had another problem there in that they was unable to load any of the presets, so they were virtually useless to me.
I'm actually not sure this wasn't also happening in 6.01, because I never specifically checked.
All of my other reverbs, like WaveArts, CSR and PSP Easy Verb, are acting just fine in 6.02, even in pre-render mode, so I have to assume this is probably a Korg problem, not a DP problem. It's not just the reverb or delay tails, either, it's actually the end of the note itself, and only on the reverbs and delays, not on their dynamics or distortion plugs. it's just the reverb and delay (what I'd call "time-based") MDE-X effects that seem to have the clipping problem. I do hardly use the MDE-X (it is even syncrosoft-protect - so, I did not find anything special about it that would justify to go through syncrosoft checking each time it gets loaded.
